Dean Nimmer

 


Statement
Dean Nimmer is an abstract artist specializing in the areas of painting, drawing and printmaking. He has exhibited his art and lectured in Australia, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Japan, and China as well as in many galleries and universities across the US. A catalog of Mr. Nimmer's artworks is available on his website. Dean Nimmer is Professor Emeritus of the Massachusetts College of Art, where he taught from 1970 to 2004. During his tenure at Mass. Art, Mr. Nimmer developed unique approaches to teaching abstract painting and drawing. The video on his website shows an excerpt from his painting seminar at the Central Academy of Art and Design in Beijing China where he was invited to teach in 1998,1999 and 2002. Currently, Mr. Nimmer is writing a book called "Art from Intuition" that promotes using one's natural human instincts as the central sources for making art.
