Linda Ross

Statement
Initially interested in the everday objects discarded by her daughter, Linda Ross has become absorbed by the need to accumulate in our consumerist culture. Transformed in crystal, these nostalgic, suburban icons, such as plastic flamingos, rubber ducks, and children's toys, become curious emblems of a culture obsessed with and created by accidental collecting. Linda Ross earned her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in 1985 and her MFA in 1997. She has taught at the Pilchuck School, Seattle, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston and at the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence. Her work is in the collections fo the Corning Museum, Musee Des Arts Decoratifs, the Index Corporation, the Saxe Collection and Pacific Bell Telephone.
