Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen

Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen, an avid birder and naturalist, has traveled in Europe, Japan, New Zealand, and North America, drawing on the natural environments of these regions as inspiration for her art. A longtime member of William Morris's crew, her own work is on display in numerous museums, collections, and galleries worldwide. In 1999, she studied at Pilchuck as a recipient of the prestigious Corning Award. She has participated at Pilchuck as an instructor, gaffer, and teaching assistant. Willenbrink has also taught workshops at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine, Tulane University in Louisiana, San Jose State University in California, the University of Hawaii, and the Pratt Fine Arts Center in Washington.
